I decided to take this class to fulfill part of my Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology Certificate. I had heard from friends and seen on ninjacourses that it was a very practical course. Even if I never end up patenting anything in my life, I am interested in the process and the various lawsuits that come up on a seemingly more regular basis. I was especially excited when I heard that we would have the opportunity to visit a courtroom and witness an actual lawsuit. I enjoy reading various technology and entrepreneurship articles so it would be nice to fully understand all the litigation issues surrounding different companies and devices.
Hi Roshan,
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with you that taking this course is important to learn more about patents, given even if you decide not to patent a technology now, you probably will be involving in the patenting process at some point during your career in the future. It would be really cool to visit a courtroom and learn more about how patent law works as well.
See you in class!
Rahul
Dear Mr. Roshan,
ReplyDeleteYour post drove me to great introspection on the nature of learning. All knowledge is useful, and for you to appreciate the utility of this knowledge is extremely apt. You have caused me to ponder on the deeper meaning of patents and intellectual property--for this I am sincerely grateful.
You are an inspiration to us all.
Regards,
Akshay
Hi Roshan,
ReplyDeleteIts nice to see your interest in the class. I myself am also planning on pursuing the Certification from the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology. I believe this course will be very practical and I think that going to the courthouse as well to see an in person assignment will be a great experience. I think you chose a great course and I think it will be invaluable in the future as we begin our careers.
Kudos,
Yash
Hi Yash,
DeleteI completely agree with you, as well as your last statement regarding this course. Just from the first two weeks, it is very evident how invaluable this course will be. It really allows for the students to gain a better understanding of the realm of patents and the possible conflicts/controversy that occur to this day.
Best of luck,
Saravana
Hi Roshan!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that you are taking the class to fulfill some of your CET certificate requirements. I actually heard about this course through a friend and found out along the way that it could be counted towards the CET certificate. Now I am considering taking more IEOR classes since I noticed that a lot of the topics they cover are highly practical and interesting. It actually would be great if I could learn your reasoning behind pursuing the certificate! Do you hope you work in tech in the future?
Cheers,
Jane
Hi Jane! Sorry for the late response. I am still a little uncertain regarding my future plans, but I think that the knowledge and skills you gain from the certificate could be invaluable regardless of what you end up doing.
