What a great video on the reason patent trolls have thrived so well in this technology age that we live in. These companies have such an apt name as trolls because they serve only one purpose, which is just siphoning money through settlements from corporations. Granted that is one way to look at it, however trolls also do make companies much more aware if they are infringing and maybe in the future, if the law permits, they serve a more useful purpose. I think patent trolling is definitely just a product of a loophole in the legal system that over the years will adapt and make sure that these companies don't have the power they command now.
I'd also like to add that your videos seem really interesting in general and I think you summarize information quite well. Keep it up!
It is interesting to see how industry professionals responded to the Executive Action put in place by the White House to improve the patent litigation landscape. These are the people, maybe outside of patent lawyers, that would likely be able to predict the possible success of a policy change in this space. In my opinion, the White House should take the considerations of these industry members very seriously and possible incorporate some of their ideas/suggestions as they continue to tweak policies.
